I'm sorry to say that without further publication of evidence, this is a goose of a story.
I understand that the limitations of journalism make giving the full version of events impractical, but this kind of reporting highlights the fact that reducing the amount of information mentioned renders this kind of story inaccurate at best, and a downright lie at worst.
Those of you familiar with the history of Romans in Britain will see it for what it is but, more importantly, those who aren't are going to learn something wrong, as opposed to something useful.
